Wild Bill’s Western Store helped George Strait add a another belt buckle to his collection for his Strait Down Route 66 performance at the BOK Center in Oklahoma on June 2. The event center in Tulsa commissioned the custom-designed buckle from Wild Bill’s Western Store for the Country Music Hall of Famer.

According to Bill Dewbre, owner of Wild Bill’s Western Store, “The King of Country” was more than gracious and humble when he received the buckle, showing that fame doesn’t overshadow good old southern hospitality.

Dewbre recalls meeting numerous celebrities from movie stars and music artists like Elton John, and The Rolling Stones, to royalty and Saudi sheiks over his 50+ years in the western wear business.

“Recently we designed a set of buckles for Bon Jovi,” said Dewbre. “He used to come into our store every once in a while, whenever he did his concerts in Dallas.”

Strait’s team also received custom Wild Bills’ belt buckles to commemorate the exclusive one night performance in Oklahoma presented by Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tulsa. The concert is the first show for BOK Center’s “10 for 10” concert series in 2018, a planned celebration that will feature ten blockbuster artists commemorating the arena’s tenth anniversary.
